Susan Gail Freeman, 64, of Thomasville, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  She was born on January 5, 1962 in Guilford County, High Point, NC to J.R. Freeman and Mable Pauline Frady Freeman.  She graduated from East Davidson High School in 1980 and worked in retail at Wal-Mart and Dillard’s for many years.  She loved animals, snowmen, and had a big loving heart for others.  She attended Lexington First Assembly of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Freeman Wilde.

On July 16, 1993, she married Mark Anthony Austin, who survives of Thomasville; also surviving are a host of friends and church family.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Vernon Richmeier officiating.  Susan will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until the hour of the graveside service.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
