Mary "Susan" Scott Smith, 73, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Piedmont Crossing Health and Rehabilitation. Susan was born on November 15, 1952, in Pitt County to the late Paul Scott and Lucille Teel Scott. She worked for many years in the furniture industry before discovering her true calling through volunteer work at Fair Grove Family Resource Center, where she later became a full-time employee. Susan loved her family dearly and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Oliver Kenneth "Ken" Smith of the home; her daughter, Beth Smith (Keith Isakson) of Thomasville; her son, Steve Smith and wife, Marie; her sister, Melina Howard and husband, Ray; and her eleven grandchildren: Michael Dills, Jacob Dills, Blaik Smith, Christopher Smith, Isabella Smith, Madilyn Smith, Zander Smith, Megan Rowlands, Paige Rowlands, Nikolas Rowlands, and Joseph Rowlands.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 31, 2026 at 3:00 PM at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville, with Rev. Steve Manley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
