Thomas Wayne Lambeth

Mr. Thomas Wayne Lambeth, 74 of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023. Wayne was born on August 3, 1949, to the late Houston and Nettie Lambeth.

Wayne was first and foremost a loving husband, father, and great-grandfather. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, Talor and Austin; and great-granddaughter, Rylie. He was looking forward to the arrival of his new great-granddaughter, Sadie, as well. Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Army, and after his time in service, he eventually opened Wayne’s Marine Service. He loved meeting new people and working on his clients’ boats. In his free time Wayne loved to hunt and fish. He loved watching and listening to his rabbit dogs hunt, and he also loved watching his birddogs point at birds on his property. He could do these all day, in fact. He, his wife, and son loved deep-sea fishing and would enter many King Mackerel Tournaments. He also loved spending time with his horse and longtime friend, Ace, and his companion-dog, Mickey, whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, those preceding Wayne in death include his sister, Judy Lambeth Franklin; brother, Wally Lambeth; and nieces, Teresa Ann Franklin and Teena Marie Franklin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of over fifty-four years, Joanie Lambeth, of the home; son, Shawn Joel Lambeth (Michelle); daughter, Bobbie Gibson (Jeff); granddaughter, Talor Nicole Knowles; grandson, Austin Lane Lambeth (Katelyn); great-grandchildren, Rylie Ann Wilson and Sadie Layne Lambeth (to arrive soon); sister-in-law, Lennice Lambeth; and many other additional family members and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Wilshire Golf Course Clubhouse (1570 Bridgton St., Winston-Salem, NC 27127) from 2pm to 4pm. Military honors will begin at 2:30pm. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
