Thomas "Bill" William Smoot

Mr. Thomas “Bill” William Smoot, 76, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at his home. He was born on September 12, 1945 in Marion, North Carolina to the late John “Roy” Smoot and Elizabeth Craig Smoot. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corps during the Vietnam War. Bill took his knowledge gained during his time in the service and worked several years in the Avionics Industry. When he was able, he enjoyed going fishing and playing golf. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two older brothers, Kenneth and Leonard Smoot.

Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Vickie “Dianne” Smoot of the home; one son, Brooks William Smoot (Rebekah S. Myers) of Greensboro; four brothers, David Smoot, Steve Smoot, Paul Smoot, and Tommy Smoot; and one sister, Anne Smoot.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Sheila Warner officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 1:30 till 2:30 PM at the JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.
