Timothy Driggers Obituary

With deep sadness the family announces the passing of Timothy Fred “Tim” Driggers. Tim’s life of service and devotion to his wife, family, friends, colleagues, and community abruptly ended early Sunday March 28, 2021. He was 61 years of age.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Tim’s was a life of service. A quiet, kind, and loyal gentleman. Tim was a friend and a “brother” to all whose lives he touched. Tim’s gentle demeanor, patience and easy way with people secured the trust and admiration of many inside and outside of our community.

In 1980, Tim began his career with the Thomasville Police Department. Throughout his 30-year tenure he exhibited daily dedication to the safety and welfare of both the public and his fellow officers, working his way up through the ranks and earning multiple accolades for his meritorious service, including the Key to the City of Thomasville and the Order of the Long Leaf Pine.

Tim married Lynn Jenkins Cole in 2005. His duty to family, friends and fellow officers was eclipsed only by his legendary devotion to Lynn. Tim is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Lynn, his stepdaughter, Taylor Cole, son, Timothy Fred “Buck” Driggers II, daughter in law, Emily Kluttz Driggers and grandson, Finley Driggers. “Pop-Pop,” as nicknamed by Finley, was looking forward to the early summer arrival of his second grandson. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Tim. He loved a quiet evening with Lynn at home on the deck, watching television, especially NASCAR races and the New Orleans Saints, relaxing with his ‘lap dogs,’ lounging at the beach, and fishing.

When you think of Tim, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember life is fragile, short and should be lived to the fullest.

Tim will lie in repose at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Thomasville, NC, Thursday, April 1, 2021 from noon until 7pm. Relatives, friends and colleagues are invited to pay respects. All are invited to attend the graveside service on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2pm, Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Thomasville, NC.
