Tina Whitman Obituary

Tina June Whitman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 5, 2023, and although her healing was not “Finished” completely on this side of Glory, it has been now. After her birth on June 27th 1957, Tina moved thirteen times as a young child and teenager before settling in for good for the last fifty plus years in Northern Davidson County, with the last nearly forty-nine years spent married to the love of her life who considered her his “Princess”, Randy Whitman. In addition to her husband, Tina is survived by her mother, Shirley Wiles and husband Bill of Thomasville; her father, Donald Little; her two children, daughter Nicole Whitman Meade and husband Ryan of Atlanta, GA, and their children Rhys, Fin and Jameson Grace and her son Matthew Gray Whitman and wife Ariel of Winston-Salem and their children, Leona and Nicholas; her sister Diana Anthony and husband John; sister-in-law, Lynn Whitman of Concord and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Tina was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Laura and Jack Van Meel.

Tina graduated from Ledford High School and DCCC. After working in banking and accounting, Tina became a mom and spent the next twenty plus years as a homemaker. As the children got older and left for college, Tina served as a Youth and Children director at Wallburg Baptist Church and then Coggins Memorial Baptist Church. She also served for fifteen years on staff at Reynolda Church in varying positions, and for numerous years as the most wonderful pastor’s wife ever alongside her husband at Clearview Baptist and Fellowship Baptist Church. During these many years of service to her Lord, Tina’s heart for missions shown brightly as she went on numerous mission trips both domestically and internationally. Tina also enjoyed time at the beach, crafting and making items for others, walking, reading and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, for whom she fought so hard to have more time with these last seven years during her fight with breast cancer.

A special thank you to her wonderful Oncologist, Dr. Erin Jepsen and Pain Management, Dr. Carrie Johnson and their staff, including nurse Kim and nurse Terri and nurse Tracie of Chemo-infusion, as well as all those who compassionately cared for her during this battle.
