Mr. Tony Burgess Gobble, 68, a resident of Thomasville, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Gobble was born to the late Ervin “EB” Burgess Gobble, Jr. and Elsie Rothrock Gobble in Davidson County on May 20, 1952. He worked as a truck driver for many years. On October 27, 2000 he married Claudette Carden. Mr. Gobble proudly served his country and was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Mr. Gobble was also a family man who loved his family immensely. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gobble was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Gobble Harris.
Mr. Gobble is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Claudette Gobble of the home; sons, Tony Brian Gobble and wife Deanna of Asheboro, Archie Lee Gobble and wife Amber of Trinity, and Jonathan Scott Gobble and wife Sarah of Thomasville; step-son, David Cromer of Belews Creek; step-daughter, Shanda Coley and husband, Charles of Belews Creek; sister, Darlene Trotter and husband Donnie of Thomasville; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; “other sons,” Dustin, Troy, and Michael; and fur-babies, Bucky, Puppy, Miley, and Yo-yo.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 11 AM in Holly Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Jeff Garner officiating. There will not be a formal visitation.
