Tony Ray Carriker, Sr.

Mr. Tony Ray Carriker, Sr., 75, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Lexington Health Care Center.  He was born on November 16, 1944 in Davidson County, NC to James Samuel Carriker and Lilly Pearl Byerly Carriker.  He worked for Dolan Bowers Construction for several years and later owned and operated T&T Paving.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving in addition to his mother, Lilly Pearl Carriker of Denton, is his son, Tony Ray Carriker, Jr. and wife Heather of Summerville, NC; two grandchildren, Raelyn Carriker and McKenzie Carriker; brother, Ted Carriker of Thomasville; sisters, Vickie Talent and husband Ray of Thomasville and Penny Owens and husband David of Richfield, NC; nephews and nieces, Chris Underwood and wife Denise, Wendy English and husband Joe, Drema Fortson and husband Dean, Matt Owens and wife Jennifer; Angie Wright and husband Ralph, and Lilly Carriker; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral  Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Daniel Downing officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mr. Carriker will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM for members of the community to pay their respects.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC  27292.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
