Vanda Lou Miller Powers, 84, of Lexington went home to be with the Lord, Thursday February 26, 2026 at Abbotts Creek Nursing Home in Lexington.
Vanda was born November 13, 1941 to the late Mary Miller Hancock of Davidson County. She was a lady of faith and trusted the Lord in all aspects of her life. Vanda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be truly missed by her family.
In addition to her mother, Vanda was preceded in death by her husband James Elmore Powers in 1989; two daughters, Dwanna Lynn Williams and Patricia Elaine Robinson.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Freddy Eugene Robinson and wife Marcy, Brandy Attia-Kennedy and husband Aaron; a son-in-law, Carlie Wayne Williams, Sr.; eleven grandchildren, Carlie Williams, Jr., Dustin Williams, Sierra Hill, James Robinson, Devon Attia, Hana Attia, Sarah Attia, Adam Attia, Ayah Attia, Jenna Attia, and Sophia Attia; four great grandchildren, Skylar Williams, Tyler Williams, Teresa Williams, and Wesley Hill.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bynum Orr officiating. No viewing or visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the cancer research organization of the donor’s choice.
