Vera Sue (Willard) James

Vera Sue Willard James, 91, of Winston-Salem and formerly of Bobby Willard Road, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

Sue was born February 25, 1934 in Davidson County, NC a daughter of the late Julius Daniel Willard and the late Ada Florence Stewart Willard and had made this area her home all of her life. Sue was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts and word search books. Sue was a faithful member of Bethlehem Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers.

Sue is survived by her sons, David James and his wife Brucetta of Lexington, NC, Larry James and his wife Debbie; Jimmy James and his wife Amy; her daughter Carolyn Parks and her husband Jeff all of Midway, NC; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Betty Willard of Midway, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday July 27, 2025 at Bethlehem Cemetery on Old Lexington Road with Pastor Chris Elliott officiating. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home, 10301 N. NC Highway 109, Winston-Salem, NC (Wallburg Community). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Cemetery c/o Joe Stewart, 7886 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
