Vergil Dewayne Tate, 56, of Thomasville passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025 at his home.
Vergil was born September 8, 1968 to the late Troy Tate and Cynthia “Sissy” Beach Tate of Randolph County. In addition to his daddy and momma, Vergil was preceded in death by his nephew, Brian “Nathan” Boone; a sister, Judy Tate; brothers, Ronnie D. Tate, Sr. and Arthur Tate.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Michael Tate (Heather) of Randleman, Nicholas Tate (Tasha) of Asheboro; granddaughters, Aerial Tate, Makaila Tate, and Elizabeth Tate; brothers, Wayne Tate (April) of Sophia and Ray Tate of Randolph County; sisters, Robin Boone (Brian) of Thomasville, Debbie Wall (Richard) of Randolph County; nine nephews and four nieces.
Vergil loved his family, racing, working on cars, and enjoyed good conversation with his family and friends. He was especially proud of the young men and fathers his sons have become. His favorite topic of discussion were his beloved granddaughters whom he loved.
To honor the wishes of Vergil, no formal service will be held.
