Virginia Lee (Sexton) Elbertson

Virginia Lee Sexton Elbertson, 74 of Thomasville passed away peacefully Friday, January 15, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center. Virginia was born July 31, 1946 in Davidson County to Fred Lloyd Sexton and Inez Hulin Sexton. She attended Ashmore Business College. Virginia worked many years as a switchboard operator for Davidson County Mental Health.  Virginia enjoyed fishing and going to the beach. Her greatest joy in life was her family; her children and grandchildren always brought a smile to her face. She absolutely loved life; she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Lloyd Sexton.

Surviving is her significant other and best friend of 30 years, Murray Nobles; two sons, Dale Elbertson and wife Lynn, David Elbertson and wife Shana; one daughter, Teresa Elbertson Bean and husband Chad; her mother, Inez Hulin Sexton; one brother, Jerry Sexton and wife Darlene; eight grandchildren, David McGee, Brandi Doby, Marisa Elbertson, Raylan Elbertson, Tim Gobble, Jon Gobble, Chris Gobble, Chad Bean; nine great-grandchildren, Randy McGee, Clayton Doby, Drake Gobble, Jackson Snyder, Melanie Gobble, Cari Gobble, Cody Gobble, Jon Jon Gobble, Levi Gobble.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2:00PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Dale Elbertson officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Virginia will lie in state all day on Monday from 8:00 AM-6:00 PM at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home for anyone wanting to pay their respects. No formal visitation will be held. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com.
