Mrs. Virginia (Ginger) Lee Bowman Pennington, 68, a resident of Old Embler Road, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.   She was born on February 7, 1953 in Surry County, NC to Leo Calvin Bowman and Violet Christine Harrell Bowman.  She was a homemaker, took care of the horses, and in later years as a hobby started Klassic K-9’s, where she raised German Shepherd puppies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Bowman; and her sister, Bernice Sexton.

On August 19, 1972, she married Donald (Donnie) Lee Pennington, who survives of the home; also surviving are her daughter, Jennifer Pennington and husband Bryan Tolson of Thomasville; son, Andy Pennington of Thomasville; sister, June Lovingood of Thomasville; brothers, Ronnie Bowman of North Wilkesboro and Bruce Bowman of Thomasville; grandchildren, Dawson, Jordan, Madison, Paul, and Savannah Pennington, and Simone, Christian, and Perry Tolson; her special canine companion, AreJay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date as announced.  Flowers will be accepted and please send to the home.
