Mr. Walter Ray Hulin, 90, of Lexington, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at the Lexington Health Care Center. He was born on June 2, 1935 in Randolph County, NC to William Gowan Hulin and Neta Garner Hulin. He worked the majority of his life as a contractor in the construction industry. He loved working, gardening, and spending time at the casinos in Cherokee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Evelyn Harrison Hulin on August 16, 2022.
Surviving are his two children, Karen Hulin Ivey and husband Mitchel and Randy Ray Hulin and wife Susan, both of Lexington; four grandchildren, Dwight Davis (Susan), Brandi Leath (Jeremy), Bradley Hulin (Hailey), and Jason Hulin; and great-grandchildren, Asher, Bria, Grayson, and Avarie.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Pastor Jack Hurley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Grove UMC Cemetery in Denton, NC. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM.
