Wanda Atkinson Obituary

Mrs. Wanda Sue Williams Atkinson, 77, of Trinity went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Atrium Health High Point Medical Center. Wanda was born November 17, 1946 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Everett Williams and Geraldine Amos Williams. Wanda attended Inspiration Worship Center. She worked many years at Adams-Millis as a sewer; then later worked at Winn-Dixie in the Deli. Wanda exhibited hard work her entire life, whether it be in the work force or in the home. She loved to work all types of puzzles from crossword, word searches and even jig-saw puzzles. Wanda loved cats and bunnies; they always brought a smile to her face.  Her greatest joy in life was the care given and time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a true heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Glen Williams, Michael Williams, Terry Williams; one sister, Stella Sprouse; son-in-law, Thomas King.

Surviving is her loving husband of 57 years, Lars Levi Atkinson of the home; one son, Lars Levi Atkinson, Jr. and wife Marsha; two daughters, Marilyn King and Cheryle Phillips and husband Kenneth; three grandchildren, Joshua King, Kassie Cook and husband Dylan, Nicole Bodenheimer and husband Wesley; three great-grandchildren, Carlee King, Levi King, and Liam Bodenheimer; one sister, Flora Fay Fogleman. She also leaves behind her kittens and rabbits.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Pastor Brent O’Neil officiating. No formal visitation will be held per Wandas request. Family and friends will be meeting at the daughter Cheryle’s home following the graveside service.
