Wanda Gail Garner Cole, 71, a resident of Denton, passed away Saturday evening, April 12, 2025 at Thomasville Medical Center. Wanda was born on August 25, 1953, in Randolph County to the late Paul Garner and Lilian Canvass Garner.
Wanda worked for Asheboro Elastics and retired with over 25 loyal years of employment. In November 2000, Wanda married James Cole and they enjoyed 24 years as husband and wife. Wanda was a nature lover and enjoyed tending to her flowers. She liked to travel to the beach, but most of all enjoyed sitting on her own porch and drinking her coffee. Wanda cherished spending time with her family and especially her grandkids. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish Wanda’s memory is her loving husband, James Cole, of the home; her son, Kevin Duwayne McKay of Denton; two step-daughters, Jamie Ryan and Felicia Coleman; her brother, Larry Garner and wife Betty of High Falls; three grandchildren, Kevana McKay, Chelsea Ryan and Emory Coleman.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Lick Creek Baptist Church 2574 Lick Creek Church Road, Denton, NC 27239, with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating.
