Wayne Turner

Mr. William “Wayne” Turner, 83, of Blair Street, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at his residence.

Wayne was born January 15, 1937 to the late Clifford Reid Turner and Vallie Byerly Turner. He served his country in the United States Army, and later worked as a truck driver. Wayne was a founding member of Cedar Lodge Baptist Church in Thomasville, where he served on the building committee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Kelly.

Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Arlene Turner of the home; his son, Danny Turner and wife Polly of High Point; a brother, C.R. Turner and wife Jewetta of Thomasville; a sister, Sylvia Wyrick of Thomasville.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Lodge Baptist Church in Thomasville with Rev. N.J. Rich officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will greet friends Friday at the J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
