It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Wesley “Wes” Monroe Byrd, 47, of Thomasville, North Carolina, who left us on July 8, 2026 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Wesley was born on June 10, 1979, in Guilford County to James Monroe Byrd and Barbara Ann Leonard Byrd. He was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at Quaker Gap Baptist Church in Germanton, North Carolina. Wesley was employed by TE Connectivity, where he worked as an Injection Mold Technician. He was a dedicated employee known for his strong work ethic both on the job and at home. Wesley found joy in fishing, whether at local lakes or along the North Carolina coast. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Above all, he cherished his family and friends. He lived a life filled with deep connections, an infectious laugh, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His kindness, generosity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Pamela "Pam" Byrd of the home; two sons, Austin Byrd and his fiancée, Emily, of Winston-Salem, and Mitchell Byrd of the home; his parents, James Monroe Byrd and Barbara Ann Leonard Byrd of Thomasville; his sister, Sonya Miller and her husband, Aaron, of Thomasville; his niece, Carley Miller; and his nephew, Cameron Miller, both of Thomasville.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville with Rev. Michael Bowers officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, July 16, 2026, at J.C.
