Wilbur (Bill) Vernon Johnson

Mr. Wilbur (Bill) Vernon Johnson, 79 of Winston-Salem, NC,, but formerly of West Bend, WI passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025.

Bill was born April 13, 1946 in Berlin, Wisconsin a son of the late Wilbur Earl Johnson, Sr. and the late Lorraine Lorenz Johnson. He was a mechanical engineer for West Bend Company, volunteered with the Junior Achievement program, served his community in various activities enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a hunter safety instructor. Bill was an avid fan of the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Bill is survived by his wife Janis Wendt Johnson whom he married June 10, 1967.

Also surviving are his sons, Bryan Johnson and his wife Wendy of Newburg, WI, Brent Johnson and his wife Karen of Grapevine, TX, Josh Johnson and his wife Trish of Woodbridge, VA; his daughter, Jill Held and her husband Brett of Wallburg, NC; brothers, Bernie Johnson and his wife Kathy, Jerry Johnson and his wife Sharon and Gary Johnson and his wife Karen all of Berlin, WI; his sister, Sharon Harvey of West Bend, WI; his grandchildren, Jordan Boyles, Peyton Johnson, Braden Held, Josie Johnson, Owen Held and Everett Johnson.

Services will be held at a later date in Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the University of Wisconsin Foundation through there website, Support UW.org. Online condolences may be sent to the Johnson to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
