Willard Wayne Dunn

Mr. Willard Wayne Dunn, 86, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at his home.  He was born on February 18, 1937 in Alamance County, NC to Rudy Willard Dunn and Ruby Mae Bartley Dunn.  He received his Doctorate Degree in Counseling from Regent University and was a counselor for 30+ years at Covenant Counseling Center in High Point.  He also taught at John Wesley College in High Point and Indiana Wesleyan University.  He was the Minister of Music, Pianist, and Organist at English Road Baptist Church for 33 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Bernard Smith.

Surviving is his sister, Priscilla Smith of Lexington; his nephews, Wesley Smith and wife Patricia, Jonathan Smith, and Joseph Smith and wife Cecilia; his nieces, Robin Smith Sweeney and husband Bill, Julia Smith Jones, and Lynette Smith Sechriest and husband Preston; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 12:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Pastor Daniel Downing and Dr. Jim Summey officiating.  Interment followed in the Heath Church cemetery.  Visitation was at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM.  Online condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.
