William Moore Obituary
Mr. William Moore, 89, a resident of Thomasville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, June 6, 2026 at High Point Hospital. William was born January 20, 1937, in Forsyth County, NC to the late George Moore and Myrtle Annette Lawson Moore. He worked as a supervisor at Thomasville Furniture Industries for 35 loyal years until his retirement. William was a faithful member of Friendly Gospel Baptist Church in Thomasville for many years. He loved being outdoors. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, camping and fishing. William and his wife Mo loved flowers and trees and took great care to make their space beautiful. He really enjoyed watching and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. William will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, Pop, brother and friend to many. He never met a stranger and loved to witness to people and share the love of Jesus.
In addition to his parents and his wife of 39 years, Mozelle Russell Moore, William was preceded in death by his sister and seven brothers.
Surviving are his children, Richard Lyndon Moore (Sandra) of Thomasville, Tamara Moore Chriscoe (Paul) of Thomasville and William Shane Moore (Missy Stevens) of Conway, SC: two step-children, Sherry Ward and Danny Woods; four brothers, June Thomas “Buster” Moore (Beverly), George Moore (Judy), Butch Moore, Steve Moore; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Darrell Summey and Rev. Mitchell Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Cemetery in Thomasville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or plant a tree in William & Mo’s honor.
