Wilma Johnson Clark Obituary

Wilma Johnson Clark, of Hasty School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 2020.

Her funeral will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Zion United Church of Christ in Thomasville with Rev. Gary Phaup and Rev. Dr. Joe D. Coltrane officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:45 – 2:45 pm in the church sanctuary.

She was born on September 19, 1930, in Davidson County, NC to L. Beecher Johnson and Fallie Lambeth Johnson, both deceased. She was affectionately known as “Baw-Baw” to her grandchildren.

Wilma enjoyed knitting, playing cards with her friends at the Senior Center, and spending time at the family beach house. She graduated from Hasty High School and earned her LPN at Forsyth Technical.

She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, a member of the 60+ Club, Women’s Guild, former Choir member and Sunday School teacher. She was married to Ralph R. Clark, who preceded her in death in May 1963. Also preceding her in death were her brother, R. B. Johnson and her son, Steve R. Clark.

Surviving is her son, Kevin Clark, and wife Lisa Clark of High Point, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Clark of Thomasville; her sisters, Iona Cheek (Colon) and Phyllis Payne (Marty); her two grandchildren, Brooke Clark and Cameron Clark; step-grandchild, Ron Moore (Kelly); and step-great-grandchildren, Emily Moore and Ethan Moore.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Senior Living High Point for their loving care of Wilma during the past 2 months.
